I look up to the sky and it's raining from the heavens
I look down at my phone and it's a quarter to eleven
and there's too much noise in the distance
I hope I'm not raising your suspicions
but I probably am an you probably can see what I'm doing
and what I'm after
My heartbeats slowing down because of you
and then you look at me, straight in the eyes
Then you use that word that I despise
I can't stand it anymore
My hearts on the sleeve that I wore
So now my hearts in your hands
I can't stand it anymore
the rains soaked the clothes that we wore
Looking after you could become a chore but I'll do it if you let me

In a damp dark room in the centre of the city
I scratch these words on a pen in a pad of yellow sticky paper
I found on your floor
while everyone lay still around me
I don't think you like me
You don't know the half of it
And I can't get over that look that you gave me
Like asking me why I'm here with your eyes
and I can't get over that look that you gave me
Like I'm the only one who understands your long awkward sighs
Angry, aggressive, misunderstood sighs

Walking through the winter streets
I think of the paces we used to meet
and this town is a blanket all wrapped up in snow
So I think of the places that you don't know about
So I find myself here
In this dark dark street
and there you are
Hiding from where we used to meet
And you're reading a book that I gave you
and you're wearing a coat I got
When I was 17
And I walk down and hold your hand
and I tell you about my band
and you act like it's just the same
but we'll both grow tired of these games
but for now you're...
and you're playing the records I play
and you're saying the things I say

Everyone's Scared

She said she liked his manners
She said she liked his hair
and he hoped she sat up late at night wishing that he cared
cause that's what he does...
And it looks just like October but really it's July
and he walks and talks and breathes and sit
but he covers his eyes when he cries
and that's what she does
Everyone's scared of one another
and I'm scared of what you do to me

I had a dream there was a show, at the funeral home
and it finished way past dark
So we walked through the night, through the glass floor
to find our way to the light
By the garage off in the distance we met you
and I didn't know what to do
I saw you through the eye of the telescope lens
and at the guitar when I was playing my guitar
I feel so guilty. Wrapped in deep in these romantic situations
in my dreams.
And then your friends mother offered to drive us home
I just saw it as a chance to get you alone
but our friends sat in-between us cause your friend
had taken a shine to mine but on the drive home
you slipped your foot across to mine and we locked eyes
As my friend dropped his best lines
I wish I had mine
but actions speak louder

My brother asked me what I'd do, If you came and said
"I offer me to you"
He should know by now that's not my style
In the long run I just probably won't react
Avoid the obvious, Just stay at the back
But I'll tell you, if it comes to it.
I know what I/'ll do!
We'll stay up late.
Watching films.
We'll stay up late.
and maybe I'll make you a mixtape.
That sounds like me.
My friend made a joke about me, and you
I just got nervous, didn't know what to do.
It's time like this I wish I had some class, some style.
So I could get out of situations like this.
She's figured it out.
Come on!
Say anything?!

We met through a mutual friend, but a mutual friend decided we should end
we met on a computer screen, but we all know a pipedream when we see one
We met in the dark corridors of our childhood, but you introduced me to her when I saw you were no good
But I picked the girl from the dark, rainy, city streets.
Oh in this life it's strange who you meet.
And you? I met you, in-between it all.
Somewhere.
Somewhere, I'm not sure where.
Six Holes. Six holes. Six holes in my heart.
One more and I'll fall apart.
And I come grazing by your window, play Neil Young till we die
and we can walk the streets of the capital and when you sing my heart cries.
I've lost count of all the memories, I'll need to make new ones...
I'll probably make them with you, in this town with it's favourite sons.
What a day to be wearing converse. I'm sick of this digital wall.
What a day, are you trying to avoid me?
We'll dance until we fall, I thought this was it
Oh it's strange in thus life who we meet.
Sit back, have a little drink, forget this feat.

Lovers Turn to Monsters Glasgow, UK
Lovers Turn to Monsters is a long pale man, slowly falling into middle age.
He wishes he
could be one of those guys who tours all the time, but he likes baths far too much. So instead he stays in his room and makes lengthy albums of emotive lo-fi nonsense.
